What’s the most memorable LIVE event you’ve ever attended in person?

August 12, 2022

Classmates and friends:

There have been lots of responses in recent months to previous questions about: Memories of Most Memorable Yale Professor, Memories of World War II, Yale Memorabilia, and Local Climate Threats. We’ve added to these articles in Class News as additional classmates responded.

Here are the 13 new articles posted in Class News in the past month:

As for this month’s question — “What’s the most memorable LIVE event you’ve ever attended in person?” — think of events like MLK’s “I Have a Dream” speech, Ali-Frazier at MSG, an Elvis Presley or Beatles concert, Woodstock, just to name a few. We grew up in the Golden Age of Television, but there is nothing like the memories of a live event to tell your grandchildren. What’s yours?

We have a few dates on our Classmate Calendar during the balance of the year:

  • Cape Cod Gold Outing, September 28-30
  • “Classic Whiffenpoofs” at Mory’s, October 17
  • Princeton Game at Yale Bowl & Mory’s, November 12
  • Affirmative Action SCOTUS Decision, Zoom on December 1

Thankfully there are no classmate deaths to report on In Memoriam since the previous all-classmate email.

We’re still collecting photos of how classmates celebrated their 80th birthday. Send yours, and we’ll add it to the album. Enjoy the balance of the summer, and we’ll be back in touch after Labor Day.

Cheers,

Tony Lavely
