Sponsorship of URI by the Class of '64 has impact

For several years, the Class of 1964 has sponsored an intern at the Urban Resources Initiative (URI) in New Haven. URI is a not-for-profit university partnership which

  • fosters community-based land stewardship
  • promotes environmental education
  • advances the practice of urban forestry

In July 2013, Yale President Peter Salovey toured some of the URI sites with director Colleen Murphy-Dunning. In the photo at right (from Yale's Facebook page), they met with New Haven resident James Scott.

The following video captures some of the impact which URI has on its interns, many of whom are ex-offenders released from prison and returning home.
