I'm more skeptical of the ability of new nuclear reactors to play much of a role in combating climate change or in meeting future energy needs. In a nutshell, they're much too expensive when compared with other ways of doing the same thing. Well-prioritized approaches to problems don't start by buying the most expensive solutions, because too much will be spent for too little. And then there are issues of safety, waste, and the spread of nuclear weapons.
