Bob Buchanan ’64 makes a case for hydrogen

February 10, 2021

Bob Buchanan, a business leader in the Greater Washington D.C. area, emailed Tony Lavely and Pete Putzel:

Your excellent forum on climate change last year was a major inspiration for me to get business leaders in Washington D.C. more involved.

Here is Bob’s message and presentation:

Why am I getting the 2030 Connected DMV Group in the mix regarding climate change, and how can the new hydrogen center initiative make a real difference? The specifics are included in the following presentation, but in general I feel the business community needs to get more involved with regional leaders like those in Connected DMV to be proactive about how we come out of the pandemic. Yes, workforce development, housing affordability, better transportation, and connectivity infrastructure, inclusivity, and embracing our diversity are major priorities, but if we do not meaningfully start addressing the ever-rising CO2 emissions now, we will have failed future generations.
