Class Council meets with students from the William F. Buckley Jr. Program

February 8, 2020

At the initiative of Terry Holcombe, who is on their Board (see news release), three Yale undergraduate members (“fellows”) of the William F. Buckley, Jr. Program at Yale spoke with the 1964 Class Council at our meeting on February 8, 2020.  Rosie Braceras (a sophomore in Berkeley College), Emma Mueller (a sophomore in Pauli Murray College), and Kobe Rizk (a junior in Ezra Stiles College) shared some of their experiences on the Yale campus and in WFBjr internships.  All three are also members of the Yale Political Union.  As stated in the Program's mission, “the purpose of this program is to foster open political discussion and intellectual engagement on campus.”  It fostered a most informative discussion among Council members.

This meeting with Yale students during our annual Class Council meeting continues a long tradition of meeting with students and special-interest groups to understand them more fully.  In recent years, the Council has met with:

  • Students from the School of Forestry & Environmental Studies
  • Students from Urban Resources Initiative (URI)
  • Students from Squash Haven
  • Students from the Afro-American Cultural Center (the “House”)
  • Students from the Muslim Students Association (MSA)
  • Students from Benjamin Franklin College, including members of the LGBTQ Affinity Group.
