Sam Low ’64 posts his earlier video “Polynesian Star Compass”

Sam Low posted, “Here is a short video I produced with a friend some years ago to help understand the Polynesian star compass.  Aloha.”

Sam added: “Polynesians settled one third of the earth's surface aboard powerful voyaging canoes. They used no instruments or charts, navigating by a world of natural signs. Here's one of them — the star compass — for finding direction. Animation by Sam Low and Bob Burns.”
