Forever Sheriff

Coming May 18, 2022

Mark Simms, son of John, the Fugitive Sheriff, and grandson of Luke, the Founding Sheriff, is sworn in as Deputy on his birthday. From the moment his hand touches the Bible, his career is interrupted by cattle rustlers who trace their start back to the money stolen in the robbery that led to his grandfather’s death. The deputy pursues the rustlers who evolve into the ruthless meatpacking monopoly, and he grows into his future: the final Sheriff Simms of Summit County. With his father’s death, he pins on the family star. Before his first act as sheriff, to bury his father and wrap up the decades-old series of crimes, the Spanish flu comes to Coalville. Hardest hit in the whole state, his little mountain community needs his leadership.

Edward Massey’s third novel in his “Sheriffs Simms of Summit County” trilogy will be published May 18, 2022 by FIVE STAR, a part of Gale, a Cengage Company. Advanced Reader’s Copies (ARCs) are available to anyone interested in writing a review and placing it in a venue of their choice. Please email Edward with your mailing address and he will send you an ARC. Since Mark’s story completes the trilogy, if you are interested in reviewing the trilogy please mention that interest in your email and Edward will send you all three ARCs.
