Five 1964 classmates form the “Q Group” (Quinque) to work on climate change

In June, Tom Barnard, Sam Francis, Tony Lavely, Tony Lee, and Pete Putzel began a series of weekly Zoom meetings to address the question “Can we stop climate change?” We’ve dubbed ourselves “Quinque,” Latin for “Five.” The precursor to this initiative was another series of Zoom meetings that four of the five have either facilitated or attended (along with other classmates). You can read about that series here.

The three-part mission of the Q Group is:

  1. Explore and share the best expertise on global warming and potential solutions

  2. Reach out to other 1964 classmates one-on-one to solicit their views on the topic;

  3. Develop a communications package (pamphlets, articles, videos) to persuade others in our communities to take progressive action.

If any other classmates would like to join in this initiative, please contact any member of the Q Group.
