Urban Resources Initiative summer interns bring us a video update

February 5, 2021

Anna Pickett, the Class of 1964 URI summer intern in 2010 (who now works for URI), and Tommy Martin, the Class of 1964 URI summer intern from 2020, bring us a video update (below) on the great work being done at URI despite the pandemic.

Strachan Donnelley

As a reminder, the Class of 1964 sponsored summer interns at the Yale School of the Environment (SOE) during the tenure of Gus Speth ’64 as Dean. More recently, we have sponsored summer interns at Urban Resources Initiative, which is supervised by Colleen Murphy-Dunning at SOE. The Yale Class of 1964 awards URI internship subsidies in memory of our classmate Strachan Donnelley ’64 (1942-2008), a philanthropist and philosopher who made a lifelong study of the intricate relationships between humans and nature in pursuit of a conservation-centered concept he called “democratic ecological citizenship.”

Chris Getman ’64 continues to support environmental work though “Friends of URI” and also as a board member of Center for Humans & Nature.
