We learned of Hugh Sutherland’s death via the Yale Alumni Magazine of September/October 2026. He had died on October 12, 2025.

We have no information about his life and career because we could find no published obituary, nor had he written any reunion essays. However we do know, as reported in the Yale Alumni Magazine, that he earned his law degree from Yale Law School in 1968.

Based on his last email address, he had been an employee of the full-service law firm Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP, headquartered in Philadelphia, PA.

His last known residence was at 3466 Tesoro Circle, New Smyrna, FL. We believe he was survived by his wife Norma Sutherland.
